Chalice of Fortune
6th-level enchantment
Casting Time: 10 minutes
Range: Touch
Components: V, S, M (a small glass bottle and at least 250 gp worth of diamond powder)
Duration: 10 days

A mysterious spell whose origin comes from a magic once practiced by the dwarves, long forgotten but to a select few who still practice the art. This spell was designed as a way to keep the old ways alive while also keeping their true nature secret.

The caster can imbue this enchantment onto a number of items equal to 1/5 of their character level, rounded down. If the caster enchants a new item with this spell, the oldest item that it was used on loses its enchantment. The item that is enchanted is considered magical; if it loses its enchantment, it is no longer considered magical. In order to benefit from the affects of the spell, the holder of the item must attune to it.

Whenever the character's player rolls a Critical Success, they gain a charge on the item imbued with the Chalice of Fortune. These charges can be used whenever a player fails a roll to turn that failed roll into a success, and can turn a Critical Failure into a normal failure, or a success at the cost of two charges. The item can hold a number of charges equal to 1/2 of the level of the character who casted the spell on the item. If another character takes the item imbued with the Chalice of Fortune, the object will still remain attuned to the original owner for one week. During this time, the previous holder of the object will still be able to use the effects of the item. If a Overlord doesn't allow for critical successes on Skill Checks, then the Chalice of Fortune doesn't affect critical successes on Skill Checks. However, the effects of Chalice of Fortune can still be applied to failed Skill Checks.
