Crackle Pods

These mushrooms grow to a height of 3-4ft and somewhat resemble sunflowers. Their stalks are dark and they end in an orange and red bulbous mass with shedding fleshy bits that are the color of blood. When they are mature, they store their spores in the bulb and when disturbed by a passing creature or the like, they pop violently unleashing their caustic spores in a flurry of crackling bursts.
